Frequently asked questions.

What is DTL?

DTL is changing the way that material is moved. We are the world’s largest network of dump trucks, brokers, and contractors. Whether you need material moved or you want to put trucks to work, we provide the platform that connects the two sides, ensuring that every job gets done efficiently and effectively. With our load board and social network, we’re bridging the gap between transactional efficiency and strengthened relationships.

How does DTL work?

DTL users establish their company’s presence on DTL, at which point they are able to create their own projects or submit bids on projects created by other companies. If you prefer privacy, projects can also be sent directly to others in your network, bypassing the load board.

How much does it cost?

All current features of DTL are available to every DTL user for free. We want to put the power of DTL into the hands of everyone in the construction industry. Since we are a business, we have plenty of products and services in the development pipeline that we will charge for that will allow to us to continue providing free, outstanding products to America’s construction industry.

What types of projects does DTL support?

All load boards allow you to tell the world that you need to move something from A to B. DTL is no different. You can quickly and easily find trucks to haul material from you from one place to the next. With DTL 2.0, we’ve expanded our offering to help you find the material you need or a future home for excess material that you’re hoping to get rid of. We’re a one-stop shop for all of your material and trucking needs.

What’s next for DTL?

The current release of DTL is just the foundation of where we’re heading over the next year. Over the coming months, keep an eye out for more groundbreaking tools and offerings that will continue to improve and streamline your operations. By this time next year, if we have anything to say about it, America’s dump truck industry will be forever changed.

Are you open to partners?

As much as we want to, we know that we can’t do it all! We are always open to finding mutually beneficial relationships where 1+1 might add up to 3. Select partners can connect to the DTL API to automatically source the best trucking at the most competitive price or get notified when a DTL member needs to find material or disposal options. Tap into the DTL marketplace and watch your business take off!

We’re also open to hearing from manufacturers, dealers, and service providers (maintenance, insurance, financing, etc.) so we can help our users’ businesses thrive.

What types of trucks do you support?

There is probably an ideal truck type and size for each project out there. To try to accommodate this, DTL currently has fifteen categories of trucks. In order of quantity (most common to least common on the network): triaxles, tractor-trailer end dumps, tandems, 4+ axle straight trucks, single axles, bottom dumps, bulk carriers, super dumps, side dumps, transfer dumps, walking floors, roll-offs, live floors (conveyors), lowbeds, and stone slingers. We also have a rarely used “other” category that we’ll use to add additional categories in the future if circumstances require it.

FYI - there are tens of thousands of each of the first few types of trucks while we have fewer than a thousand stone slingers registered. We also know that the names of these trucks may vary depending on where you are in the country.

I’m not a member of the industry but I still need to find dump trucks/material/a place to get rid of material. Can you help?

While DTL membership is exclusively for businesses and professionals in the construction and trucking industries, our users would be more than happy to help you out. Tell us a little bit more about what you’re looking for and we’ll connect you with a trusted DTL member in your area.
